The Wrong Person... (CH -5)

Sun has gone down to bed, the sea was sleeping in silent, and even the wind was calm. Mother Nature herself, is seems to be in such a peaceful state. From a five year old kid to 60 year old person looks happy on this peaceful night. As it was the 365^th day of the year the 31^st December. Party animals are partying; lovers are waiting for the clock to strike 12 midnight so that they can kiss their better half. Some are celebrating with their friends, few with their family, cousins, and relatives. Somehow everyone is seems to be happy including Anand who is out with his friends celebrating the New Year’s Eve. Except that one soul who is crying her heart out. Yes that is our Madhu whose heart was shattered into pieces by Anand. The soul whom she loves a lot, the soul that she trusted the most, the person without who her life would be filled with darkness. She is not able to imagine a future without Anand. It may be a short span of time she has been with Anand. Yet, he has become the song in her heart. She hates her herself for falling for him.

She hates herself more and more for not able to hate him. How can he say that it wasn’t love what they shared between them. She thought to herself, “has he forgotten the times, when he said I was his lucky charm then.  He claims everything to be such an illusion now. The past few months of my life, the precious memories that we made together was it all untrue. Why did he become such a selfish creature? Was he always selfish? If so how can I not know this all these days? I have never seen such a stone hearted person ever in my life. And congrats to my stupid heart for falling for Mr. wrong. Does every girl go through this? Or only some cursed souls like me go through these unfortunate moments. I wasn’t even looking for love; it came at an unexpected time and has given me the incurable pain of all times. I did not beg him to be my friend in the first place. I did not asking him to come, all the way to Bangalore. He himself came into my life, became a friend, cared me like a mother, protected me like a father, fought with me like a sibling, and was always there for me like a best friend. Now he has left me in despair. He denied the fact that we are soul mates; instead he proclaimed he is just a passer-by. Anand, I love him so much but he made clear that I’m not his souls mate. Instead he asserted me as just another passing cloud in his life.” The clock has stroked exactly 12 midnight it is NEW YEAR.

Happy New Year wishes have started to flood Madhumitha’s phone from all her friends, relatives, family and everyone. Each and every time the phone rings or messages crops up Madhu’s heart would skip a beat hoping it to be Anand. But she knows he won’t wish her. from the way, he spoke to her today evening she knows he has gone far away from her already. The rash rude ridiculous attitude he showed to her, the worst side of Anand. Another side of him that has never been shown out to her she saw that today. He wasn’t the same sweet, cute, romantic Anand she fell in love with. Even Anand is like other men out there who would behave like as if he is in love with the girl. By showing all the fake emotions, misleading romantic gestures, and flirting in the name of friendship. The poor girl would fall for those smart tricks played by him. She would open up her heart hoping that  he is falling for her too. The girl at last would end up heart broken, feel like been used up, betrayed, back stabbed by him. Madhu came to a conclusion now all men are the same. Selfish animals, who would not even think twice before playing with a girl’s heart, forgetting the very fact his mother was a young girl once, his own sister is a girl and in future his own daughter will be a girl. Still he doesn’t care about anything. What he cares about the most is a girl, who he can roam around with, a girl just to flirt when he feels like to. Somehow Madhu managed to pull herself together emotionally by self-motivation saying that “Anand is the WRONG PERSON” for her. There is no better medication than music for a scarred heart. Preethi, Abirami and Malini have gathered at Preethi’s house along with Madhumitha to console her. Of course being her friend’s it’s their primal duty to curse the whole of mankind in the process of scolding Anand for what he has done to Madhu. (Being a passionate soul who is concerned more about the two souls involved in feelings & problems etc. what I don’t seem to understand is why would these so called friends always curse the man kind for just one individual’s fault? I don’t think Anand requested for the whole male population’s permission before becoming close with Madhu or while breaking her heart. Still there is no possible justification for why would these friends blame the whole mankind. Only the almighty god himself should know the answer dear God do you know the answer? Or even you are clueless like passionate soul?) It has been nearly 18 hours since her meeting with Anand. However Madhu is still in such a miserable state mourning for her heart break. The clock strikes exactly 12 noon now within just 5 minutes she receives a call from Anand. Everyone including Madhu herself is puzzled by that phone call. Why is he calling her now? to worsen her heart break? What does he wants now? Madhu is not ready to attend that call now. 

She lets that one ring goes to numerous rings and now it’s been nearly 15 missed calls. At the 22^nd missed call Preethi picks up the call and answers (yes every group will have this one friend who suddenly feels pity for the guy). Preethi “Hello” Anand “Madhu is it Madhu I wanna talk to you Madhu” (he breaks her heart yesterday evening and now he uses her name thrice in a sentence? You shocked right don’t worry not only you even Madhu’s friends are. Oh come one while typing up even I’m shocked let’s get back to the scene). Preethi “Anand it’s me Preethi, Madhu doesn’t want to talk to you now”, Anand reply’s “Preethi please convince her to talk to me it’s very important”. Madhu nodes her head as “NO I DON’T WANNA TALK TO THAT STUPID GUY” Preethi says to Anand “I am sorry Anand she is not listening to me, she doesn’t want to talk to you”.  Anand “fine dont let her go away anywhere, I’m coming there now” saying this he hangs up the phone. Madhu is irritated she doesn’t want to see his face at all Madhu says to Preethi “he is he coming here now? Why is he coming? I am going to leave before he comes here, I don’t want to see his face.” There enters Anand spot on before Madhu leaves. It’s the same exact spot where they first met Preethi’s garden

Anand: “Hey Madhu listen listen I want to talk to you”

Madhu: “JUST GET LOST, GO AWAY” (I guess u can feel the heat of the moment from the caps lock)

Anand: “hey listen, Madhu I LOVE YOU” (Madhu stops and turns around)

Madhu: “WHATTTTT??? You you such a cheap guy, yesterday you humiliate me and now you”

Anand: “listen listen I have a reason for all that”

Madhu: “reason? What possible reason could it be”

Anand: “see me and Karthick had a bet, it’s the consequences of it”

Madhu: “what???”

Anand: “yes basically, I should not propose or accept any girl’s proposal until Jan 1^st 12 noon. So..”

Madhu: “SO?? SO ? YOU PLAY WITH MY FEELINGS??”

Anand: “see the bet was made even before you came into my life. Then you came into my life, I fell in love with you, I wanted to express it to you, was just waiting for the right moment you know”

Madhu: “what do you mean by a right moment?”

Anand: “like today after Jan 1^st 12 noon, after the bet is over, but before that you proposed me”

Madhu: “huh I proposed you? Excuse me Mr, I never said I LOVE YOU Anand did I, I just said I’m falling for you. There is a huge difference between I LOVE YOU and I’m falling for you”

Anand: “OKEY madam whatever, chuck all that I love you Madhu”

Madhu: “chuck all that? you cannot even listen to what I am saying and you wanna chuck that just get lost, and you say I love me?? do I have to believe you even after all this? I HATE YOU I HATE YOU SO MUCH”

Likewise, the argument continues between Anand and Madhu for a while and at-last Madhu storms off like a wind from there. Anand chases her and tries to explain himself still no use. Numerous missed calls, none have been returned back by her. And by 8pm he learns from Preethi that Madhu has left to Bangalore in 7pm Train. Irritated totally by the whole situations Anand is in his terrace now with Barath and Karthick.

Anand: “its all because of you bloody idiot” (pointing at Karthick)

Karthick: “how will I know things will get this worse?”

Anand: “you know I have come across many girls in my life so far. But none is like Madhu, such an  attitudish, arrogant, untamed, foul – tempered, sharp – tongued, spirited female, she she shh shee..just gets on my nerves you know”

Barath: “who Madhu? hey come on she is just a nice girl”

Anand: “nicee—eee what you know about her? You know how she fights and argues with me? For no apparent reason she will get angry with me and pull up a fight I should remain calm. And she herself will come and say sorry, I should forgive her and start talking. Oh man you know how much torcher I have gone through with that female in this past few months?”

Barath: “oh really!! If so then you should have avoided her and thrown her out of your life”

Anand: “well yeah that’s what I am going to do now”

Barath: “ha ha dude, if you really wanted to do you would have done that the 1^st or 2^nd time you guys fought. Not now though, remember today you told her you love her”

Karthick: “yeah true, even yesterday you gave us party saying you found your soul mate in Madhu”

Anand: “yes that was yesterday, but now this girl doesn’t even understand me, she is not the right one for me, I can get so many girls in snap of a finger”

Karthick: “yes bro you can remember Meera? Your Ex she is there right”

Anand: “ahan true true, she is not only my ex, my best friend too, family friend too, my mom likes her, Meera always takes care of me, she never argues like Madhu”

Barath: “You mean to say Meera doesn’t have her own brain!! She just nodes her head for whatever you say” (Barath says this with a sarcastic smile on his face)

Anand : “No no not like that Meera is smart, talented and all. But she is not attitudes like Madhu you see. And I know Meera for many years now. Madhu must be something less than a year”

Karthick: “you are right dude...we meet Madhu on Preethi Birthday only, so hardly 6 or 7 months. And look at Preethi how arrogant she is, of course her friend Madhu is going to be like her only. So leave it bro”

Anand: “yeah I have decided Madhu is the WRONG PERSON for me, Meera is the right person she is perfect in all sense. You know what tomorrow I’m going to tell this to Meera and propose her”

While this conversation is going on at Chennai, Madhumitha is heading off to Bangalore in the happiness that love of her life, Anand loves her too. Preethi, whose is sitting next to Madhu teases her about the whole situation whatever happened so far. Madhu blushes in shyness with a confident smile that there is a bright wonderful future ahead with Anand. The anger she showed to Anand was just a fake emotion just to hide her real feelings for him. How can she accepted whatever Anand says. How irresponsible Anand was, just for  a bet he nearly killed her emotionally. He needs to suffer atleast a tiny bit of what she went through right. Remember love is always a mutual feeling, never one side. The one sided feeling is just a crush or infatuation. Where there is true love the happiness and suffering should be felt by both the souls at the same intensity. That why they are known as soul mates. Madhu is trying to punish Anand for his irresponsible behaviour. He did have two choices. Either he could have told Madhu regarding the bet beforehand. Or Anand could have broken the bet and proposed her or at least told her even he loves her when she expressed herself. Cannot he loose in a small bet just for his lover Madhu? so yes Madhumitha has a good reason for her behaviour towards Anand. 

However, Little she knows, that Anand has changed his mind AGAIN now. In less than 10 hours of proposing Madhu already Anand started to fluctuate about his decision. He is has decided to propose Meera now, the girl whom he knows for years, his family friend, who knows him inside out moreover a very good friend of him too. May be that’s why Barath said during the phone conversation with Anand, that he did not like the way things go between Anand and Madhu. Barath being Anand’s best friend must know him very well. There is a possibility that Barath knew Anand have always loved Meera. And that why he didn’t like Anand playing around with Madhu’s life in the name of friendship if it’s true, then how would the poor little soul Madhumitha is going to face the second heart break? What’s going to happen next? How is she going to face all those problems?

Is this Love...(Ch - 4)

Nearly a week now since Madhumitha has come to Chennai. December semester holidays facilitated Madhumitha to have one of the best times of her life. She can’t stop herself from thinking about Anand. He was always on her mind, day and night, regardless of whatever work she had. She never felt this way about anyone so far. Well she is a third year college student must be 18 or 19 years old. Of course she would have had crushes in the past, but nothing serious so far. She hasn't thought about this feeling, what it is, why it is there, does she has to do something about it. Nothing she has thought about this feeling she gets when Anand is around her. She just enjoys that feel.

As usual Malini, Gayathri and Madhu meet up on an evening at a Coffee shop. Gayathri and Malini where gossiping about some random people they know, suddenly their attention was drawn towards Madhu. Malini goes “How is Anand”. With a shocked look on her face Madhu replies “why you asking ME?” Malini giggles and says “well you both have SOMETHING between you right”. Madhu in a slight angered voice says “what do you means? We are just friend alight” Malini replies “JUST FRIENDS Oh yeah we BELIEVE you”. Gayathri somehow managed to calm Madhu down and she explained Madhu how there is a rumour going on about Madhu and Anand. It’s not Malini’s fault that she questioned Madhu today, this is what every person who knows Anand and Madhu is been talking about behind their back. Madhu not been satisfied with their explanation leaves the place in an annoyed state of mind.

After reaching home, Madhu did kind of felt bad for getting furious at Malini. Come one what sin did Malini do? She was just reflecting everyone’s view about Madhu and Anand. She thought to herself that But why would everyone talk such things about me and Anand? Don’t they have anything better to do? Why talk about someone else’s private life. What wrong with these people even if we are lovers, in what way it affects them? Why to make it a big deal. Hang on a minute, what did I say to myself now? More than friends? Gosh!! No I said LOVERS!!! Do I myself have these doubts? This is really confusing. It’s better to talk it out with Anand regarding this. Isn’t always good to confront with people rather than bottling up emotions. She texts Anand saying “hey I want to talk to you about something, temme when you are free.” Anand replied back “alright sweety, will call you in 30 minutes”

Something suddenly cropped into Madhu’s mind Anand calling her sweety? Oh and then the other day he called her darling, on some other occasion as sweet heart, honey, baby, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, sweetie pie, lucky charm….OH GOD what is this. Madhu doesn't let anyone else call her with such names does she? Last month a guy in her college when he called her as “hey sweet heart” she did really get furious about it. And made sure that guy never calls her with those fancy little random names. So when that guy gets such a furious response for calling her “sweet heart” how can she allow Anand only to call her with such weird random names. Madhu is aware of the fact that she “likes” Anand. She wasn't sure until this day that it could have been more than like. Yet now everything makes sense to her. All the events happened between Anand and herself from the day they meet at the party till today, everything appeared in front of her like a flash back. All those beautiful moments, the crazy fights, the pointless late night phone calls, texting each other constantly until they both got tired. She could feel how wonderful where those memories she shared with him.

She can now picture her whole life ahead with Anand being in each and every moment of it. She cannot imagine a life without Anand. Everything with Anand is so perfect. Though he may not be the perfect person on this earth still she knows they both together make a perfect couple. I feel so lucky to have him in her life. She can’t imagine she has already found the love of her life. She realises she not only likes him, but she loves him too. What is that made her to fall for him? She has no clue about that. One thing she knows for sure is that her life would be happy with Anand. She feel as sleep with that same happiness filled inside her heart, mind and soul, dreaming about her future ahead, each and every minute with Anand. Next day morning she wakes up with a new hope for their (herself and Anand’s) future ahead. Everything seems so different to her, different in a good way. However, Madhu have completely forgotten about the fact that Anand hasn't called her back last night. He did tell her he will call her back in 30 minutes. But he hasn't yet it doesn't matter to her now because she is the happiest girl alive on earth now. Instead of getting angry with Anand’ irresponsibleness to call her back she was enjoying the beauty of sun rise while sipping her coffee. Why does she need to worry about just one phone call now, when she has rest of her life to live with Anand. Does this one phone call matter at all?? No way!!  

Later in the day Anand did call back and apologised for not calling back last night. They have planned to meet in the evening at the beach. The time has arrived now. She is on her way to meet him, the man who she is in love with. She is going to express herself to love of her life. The atmosphere in beach has made her feel even more romantic. “The dusking sun smiling in joy, kissing its love of eternity the goddess of Sea, just before its own bedtime, Sea goddess trying to cover their own romance, with her roaring waves” there was Anand just like the sun, waiting from the morning till dusk time to romance with its Sea goddess. Anand was waiting for Madhu. Anand said “You look stunning Madhu” Madhu replied with a smile “Thank you” Anand goes “so what's so urgent you wanted to talk about” Madhu suddenly starts to feel so nervous, she mumbles “errm well.. err, I wanted to tell you…err” Anand “yes Madhu temme what is it”. Nope she couldn't do it at all; she doesn't have enough courage in her to tell him directly that she loves him. She started to think in her head “maybe I should have thought it through? May be spoken to my friends about it? Or might have waited until he express it himself”. Somehow she gathered courage and asked Anand “Who am I to you Anand”, He replied “you? You are my friend Madhu” she was shocked with such a reply from him. Oh no she hasn’t thought about how he might have felt about her, this was such a shocking answer for Madhu. She was EXPECTING something else.

Anand became worried seeing that beautiful blossoming face of Madhu suddenly starting to wither away. Anand asked “is everything alright Madhu” Madhu replied in such a feeble voice “I I.. I… I thought we..we…we are more than friends” Anand smiled and said “oh yes we are not only friends, we are more than that of course”. That very sentence from his mouth made her bloom again into happiness. And with a wide open smile she said “yes yes I knew it !!! Even you are in love with me I knew it, I’m the….” Even before she can finish her sentence Anand interprets her “what??? Love? who told you  I am in love with you? Are you kidding Madhu? I was going to say we are more than friends like best friend not lovers” Madhu “I thought even you loved me” Anand “haha come on Madhu stop being silly, me in love? huh no way. you have just mistaken our friendship for love that’s all” Madhu “mistaken? Then why would you call me as sweety, darling, this that” Anand “hey hey stop its so common yaar to call your best friend, close friend as sweety, darling etc how could you think it as love” Madhu “well I don’t let my other guy friends call me with such fancy names, the late night phone calls, and you coming to Bangalore to see me” Anand “WOAH WOAH girl calm down will you? Just because a guy does all this it doesn't mean he is in love with you got it”. Madhu “Anand but you’re the only guy who did all this in my life” Anand “just because no other guy friend has done all this to you, you cannot mistake my gentle friendly gestures as me being in love or seeing you as a lover sweet heart” Madhu “JUST SHUT UP STOP CALLING ME SWEET HEART” Anand “look whats your problem now? you made me to come all the way up here and now being all dramatic. I don’t love you simple got you answer?” Madhu “yes I did get my answer and I am such a fool to even think you might have love me too” saying thing Madhu just storms away from that place. Anand did try to stop her, but she just carried on. That time it has started to drizzle, as if Sun was feeling pity for Madhu and shedding tears.

Best Friends... (Ch-3)

Madhu is on her way to Bangalore now, cold breeze of the September month brushing against her face and the disturbing thoughts of Anand. She likes him, the way he speak, the soft voice; everything about him came into mind. She hoped he felt the same way about her too. She wanted to hear his voice that very moment. She started wondering when they would meet again. She has already started to plan her next trip to Chennai. Can she call him now? What would he think of her, if she did so? She had so many mixed feelings. She wasn’t sure she can call him now or not. Will he welcome her call in a positive manner or her call would be ignored. After analysing lots of facts and at last she gathered her courage to communicate with Anand. She messaged him, but was really nervous about the response. After around 15 minutes she did see, he had read her messages. But no reply yet. She convinced herself, may be he doesn’t want to reply, in the middle of the night. Just because she is travelling, she hasn’t slept. So she could message or wait for a reply or whatsoever. But he is at home, must be half asleep isn’t it almost midnight already. So he would reply in the morning. In that hope she falls asleep.

She reached Bangalore her dad is driving her back home, after dropping Preethi at the place where she is staying. When she enters home, nothing is the same. It feels completely different, she wasn’t sure what has changed her, but something has. For past four or five years travelling from Bangalore to Chennai is a usual thing for Madhu. Then again this time there is something unusual. She can feel that she is not happy returning back to Bangalore. Anyways, that was just a vacation it’s over now. She has to get back to the normal day to day life. She got freshen up and left to college. The day was so dull for Madhu. Looking at her lack of usual enthusiasm Preethi did question her strange behaviour today. Preethi “What happen to you Madhu, you are not your usual self” Madhu replied with a fake smile “nothing, Preethi I am alright, just a little tired.” And Madhu headed off to her house. Throughout the day Madhu was kept on checking her phone, longing for that one reply from Anand. She just ended her day with disappointment.

On her way back home, she was telling herself that she shouldn’t bother about that Anand. Who is he anyway? Just a random guy she meets at the party so she shouldn’t be worrying about him. Within a couple of hours of her retuning back home. She gets a phone call from Preethi telling her to come immediately to the place where she stays. Madhu wants to distract herself from those stupid thoughts (yes now it is stupid thoughts, because it only gave her disappointments so what’s the use of those thoughts?) hence it’s good that Preethi called her to hangout with. Madhu reached Preethi’s place, and rings the doorbell. The door is opened and a voice says “hi” to her in such a cheerful manner. Madhu is shocked to see that person. Is it dream or reality? Whats happening she is totally confused. By now you might have guessed that was none other than Anand who opened the door for Madhu.

The disappointed face of Madhu suddenly lightens up in happiness. Preethi’s voice wakes Madhu up from her dream world. Then Madhu learns from Preethi that Kathick, Anand and Pradeep came to visit Bangalore because they were bored of Chennai. While everyone else was talking to each other and socialising, there was two pairs of eyes secretly looking at each other. That was of course our Anand and Madhu. Anand stole longing looks at Madhu and would turn around just a split second before Madhu silently threw her looks towards him. She in turn would look away even before he could find out that she was watching him. They all decided to go out for dinner. Likewise, all five of them Preethi, Madhu, Anand, Karthick and Pradeep was spending time together for next one day. Karthick and Pradeep did leave for Chennai the very next day evening. Anand somehow managed to stay behind in Bangalore. He told the guys Karthick and Pradeep his distant relative uncle, wants him to stay for another week in Bangalore. While he told that distant relative uncle (and his own parents) that he had some college project work. So he has to stay in Bangalore for another one week. 

After Karthick and Pradeep left to Chennai, Anand continued to meet Madhu but they made sure Preethi doesn’t find this out. After a week Anand leaves to Chennai, however not whole heartedly. After coming to Chennai, Anand feels as if he has left something of his own out there in Banglore. From September, till now mid-December it’s been nearly four months. Since Anand and Madhu has become from strangers to best friends. Strangers from best friends, when they both live like 346 KM away from each other are you kidding passionate soul? (I can hear you asking me this question) Why not you my reader? Why not? For two strangers to evolve into friends then to best friends just the emotional bonding between them is more than enough (at least for some of them anyway). We live in a technology era right. These two souls had technology like Skype, Whats app, Viber, Blackberry messenger, email, Facebook, and our classic means of communication cell phone. These technologies came in handy for these two souls to evolve from friends into best friends.

it was a friday night, Anand and Madhu over the phone;

Anand: I can’t wait to see you…!!!

Madhu: (with a gentle smile) you will see me tomorrow…!!!

Anand: will meet you at 5 p.m. in the evening…?

Madhu: yes, sure I had to go meet friends in the day time. Let’s meet up in the evening

Anand: Sure, no problem

Madhu: shall I keep the phone down…??

Anand: why so soon? Talk for some more time…!!!

Madhu: comeone Anand..!!! I need to get ready, I can’t miss my train right…!!!

Anand: hmm..!! (with a big sigh) true, still I miss you..!!!

Madhu: we are gonna see each other tomorrow…!!! Bye pls let me go now..!!

Anand: hmmm..alright bye, have a safe journey…!!!

Madhu: bye cya tomorrow…!!!

Immediately after Madhu hangs up the phone, Anand’s phone rings now. Its Barath a tiny part of their conversation goes like; in a happy note says “Madhu is coming to Chennai tomorrow”. Barath says, “hmm..but I don’t like the way things, go between you both”. Anand “Oh come on, nothing strange its just usual”. Barath “Yeah that’s my worry.” Anand “hey we are JUST friends”. Barath “hmmm, lets see”.

We can see that Barath doesn’t like Anand being close with Madhu. But why though? Barath is Anand’s best friend. He should be happy for Anand and Madhu. What could it be, making Barath to speak in such ways? May be Madhu is Barath’s ex girl friend? Or Barath likes Madhu too? or Barath is jealous his friend is getting a girl’s attention when he himself is still single? These might be the possible reasons, yet what’s the actual reason behind it? let’s find out sooner. May be after Madhu comes to Chennai we might able to figure out, the reasons for Barath’s strange talks. Untill then to be continued….
